PARROTLETS

Parrotlets are only 5 inches in length and weigh around 30 grams but they are fearless and can be aggressive to larger birds. They are little bundles of energy. They are a South American species and in the wild the can be seen feeding on the ground. They are very inquisitive and will get into all kinds of mischief. They are also very stubborn so it takes a knowledgeable owner to handle them.

They may be feisty, but they are also affectionate. They love to cuddle.

They do not get along with other family pets and have even been know to bully the family dog.

They are very intelligent as well. They are also sexually dimorphic.

They are a very active bird so make sure that you provide a large cage for them.

They also enjoy bathing.

There are several different color mutations available.
